Table foods?

Like most parents, we have fun giving Sophie little tastes of our food to see what she likes. She’s had teeny bites of ice cream, and would easily have eaten a good bit of fudgecicle. Big Sis gave her a taste of Popsicle, and she liked it so much she actually cried when she couldn’t have any more. Last night I dipped my finger in spaghetti sauce and let her try it – that was a hit, too.
Last week Big Sis was at home sick from school, so Mom was home from work with her. I made some of this soup for our lunch:
Of course, Sophie woke up right as I served myself a bowl. After she nursed, she played with Big Sis while I ate, and I let her try some of the broth. She LOVED the soup. There are a select few foods she gets THAT excited about, and this is one of them. I will definitely be preparing this one again!
Yesterday, also, we were at a church dinner and someone made chicken and dumplings. I think every church dinner in the south has this dish, and we couldn’t be happier about it! Sophie finished her acorn squash I had brought with us, and still was hungry. I put a little of the broth from my plate on a spoon and fed her. She LOVED it. Big Sis was nice enough to spoon a little onto a small plate just for Sophie, and I fed her that also. The chicken was cooked until it was VERY tender and falling apart, so a few bits made it into her mouth. She did very well with them, though. Her Nana also mashed up a bit of baked apple from a dessert and we fed her that. She does enjoy her apples.
